My name is Amanda, i live in leicestershire. I am a reiki practitioner and crystal therapist. I do animal healing with the use of reiki, either hands on healing or distant/absent healing. Healing is the channelling of universal life energy through the healer to the recipient. Healing can be given for any illness, injury, stress or trauma. Being either physical, emotional or mental. It works on the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms. Reiki works with the energy in and around the body, going to where it is most needed. Helping to keep the bodies energy balanced, if the bodies energy is imbalanced then illness can manifest.

Reiki promotes well being, recovery, eases pain and improves quality of life. It is natural, gentle, safe and relaxing with most cases falling asleep while having a treatment. It is complementary to other therapies and works along side veterinary treatment. Reiki is not an alternative to veterinary treatment, any animal with any health or medical problems should always see a vet first. In nearly all cases the animal as to be seen by a vet before a reiki practitioner can give healing by law.

Animals can pick upon tension and emotions that their owners give out. They can read your body language and sense your feelings, either being of fear, sadness or happiness. They can grieve the loss of a companion either being animal or human. Animals in rescue centres can be grieving the lost of their familys and home life, especially if they were loved and cared for. So it is important to understand that animals are not just our family pets or working animals, they are in their own right intelligent creatures with feelings and emotions, just like us humans should be. All animals should have respect and understanding and of course not forgetting care and love.

For Hands on healing with reiki, i will go to the animals place of resident at a suitable time, and give reiki working either hands on or just above the animals body, generally feeling the areas that needed to be worked on.

For Distant/absent healing with reiki, which i do from home, is useful for animals living far away. Also for aggressive, fearful or wild animals that don`t like human contact. For distant/absent healing usually all that is required is general information of the animal and a photo.
